How ShyftMD sources, checks and updates the educational content on this site, and how to report a correction.
Educational content on this site (treatment summaries, side-effect information, symptom descriptions and general health guidance) is meant to reflect the current peer-reviewed clinical literature. We aim to be conservative, sourced and quick to correct.
This page describes how we work toward that standard, so you can hold us accountable.
Educational pages are written from primary, peer-reviewed clinical literature and official prescribing information, not opinion or marketing. Before a page is published, clinical claims are traced back to a cited source and paired with any required disclosures, including the notice that compounded medications are not FDA-approved.
Our editorial standard has four rules:
Prescribing is separate from this content. Treatment decisions are made by an independent, U.S.-licensed provider through Wasef Health, PC after reviewing your online visit. This page is about the educational content on the site.
For any clinical claim about effectiveness, safety or how a medication works, we cite at least one of:
Anecdotal, non-peer-reviewed or pre-print sources are not used to support clinical claims on this site.
Each article or treatment page is drafted from primary sources (see above).
Before publishing, the draft is checked against our editorial standard: clinical claims must be supported by a cited source, and statements about compounded preparations must include the FDA disclosure (compounded drugs are not FDA-approved; the FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality). Anything that fails these checks is revised or removed.
Published content shows a last-updated date where applicable, and is revisited when a new trial, FDA action or clinical guideline meaningfully changes the evidence.
If a reader reports an error and we confirm it, we update the page and, for substantive corrections, its last-updated date.
This site is educational. Nothing here replaces the judgment of a licensed provider who knows your full medical history. Information about a medication does not mean it will be prescribed to you; that decision is made by a licensed provider after reviewing your online visit.
Compounded medications. ShyftMD offers compounded sermorelin and compounded GLP-1 (semaglutide). Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality. Prescribed medications are prepared by licensed U.S. compounding (503A) pharmacies.
Tools and calculators. Calculators on this site (such as BMI, BMR and TDEE) are for educational use only. Not medical advice. Not a prescription.
ShyftMD is a commercial telehealth service and earns revenue when patients buy treatment. We say so directly so you can weigh it against the educational content here.
If you find a clinical claim on this site that seems inaccurate, out of date or poorly sourced, email help@shyftmd.com with the page URL and a description of the issue.
For urgent medical concerns about your own care, don’t use email. Contact your provider through your patient portal or your local urgent care, or in an emergency, call 911.
